Microblading and Permanent Makeup. Are they the same?

Long ago, we used to call it Micro pigmentation.  Then it sounded better as Cosmetic Tattoo or Permanent Makeup in the 90s.

Is Microblading the same as Permanent Makeup?   The answer is Yes.  Microblading is a tattoo on the brows.  Permanent Makeup is a tattoo.

Think of Permanent Makeup as the Big Umbrella. Under the big umbrella, there are THREE Permanent Makeup tools aka modalities:

1. Rotary (electronic tattoo pen for the face, less thrust power than the tattoo machines used on the body)

2. SofTap (manual pen with needles to gently tap pigment into the skin)

3. Microblading (manual pen with needles to make incisions in the skin)

Microblading is one of the three modalities listed above. However, the internet interchanges the word "Permanent Makeup" and "Microblading".  You can create Hairlike strokes using all three modalities.

The Microblading tool is typically used for the brows only.  A Microblading needles should not be used for Permanent Eyeliner and Lip Blushing. The Rotary and SofTap tools are often used for the eyeliner and lip blushing.
