Considering Permanent Makeup, but uncertain of the Pros and Cons. Here's a short list of the Benefits and Concerns. Pros: 1. When applied correctly, Permanent Makeup (PMU) looks natural. It should be subtle and add definition to your fading features. 2. PMU does not smudge or wash off with water or sweat. Great for outdoor activities or work outs. 3. Ideal for individuals who are sensitive or allergic to traditional makeup products. 4. Convenience, wake up looking more defined. Less time putting on makeup in the morning. 5. Youthful, defining eyes and lips with a little color can make you look younger. Cons: 1. Cost: Permanent Makeup (PMU) is not permanent. Over time, the color fades and needs to be "refreshed". Brows last about a 12 to 15 months, Eyeliner and Lips should last longer. 2. Research: Do your homework, thouroughly. This is your face. Do not immediately trust Everyone that provides Permanent Makeup services. Ask questions, get a consultation, and look for Before and After photos. 3. Skin: Younger skin has more collagen and elasticity. Therefore, more volume to implant tattoo pigment. Older skin is thinner and delicate. A quick analogy: When we are in our 20s and 30s, our skin is hardy like an orange rind. 40s and 50s apple peel. 60s and older membrane of a hard boiled egg. The hardier the skin, easier to tattoo and longer pigment color retention. 4. Healing duration: Permanent Makeup brows take two weeks to heal. The first week, they are bold/dark in color and slightly bigger from swelling. The second week, they peel. There are bits and flakes hanging off the brows. Do not cover up with makeup or hair. Keep area clean and allow the skin to breathe. For first timers, the two weeks will feel long and feel self conscious. I hope this article helps. As mentioned before, all pigment fades over time.  Carbon Black pigment has a lot of the primary Blue color.  Therefore, as the other colors in the Black fade, the blue color remains.
