Brows Lift and Define   If you’ve had permanent makeup before and walked away thinking, “Well… that wasn’t what I hoped for,” you’re definitely not alone. A lot of women and men 55+ tried cosmetic tattoo years ago when techniques, pigments, and pain management just weren’t where they are today. Maybe it hurt more than you expected. Maybe the color turned gray, pink, or too dark. Maybe the shape felt heavy, crooked, or just not you . And maybe you told yourself, Never again. Here’s the thing most people don’t realize: most permanent makeup and microblading can be fixed or significantly improved . Not erased overnight, not magically changed in one session—but thoughtfully corrected, softened, reshaped, and refined by an artist who actually specializes in working with existing tattoos , mature skin, and real-life faces. That’s where places like Pretty Please Studio in San Ramon, CA come in. This isn’t about trends or bold Instagram or Facebook brows. It’s about subtle, be...

Jee Kim, Permanent Makeup Artist Microblading can give you beautiful, natural-looking brows — but sometimes the healed results appear too light or even grey . If this has happened to you, there are several common reasons why your microbladed brows may not heal as you expected. Microbladed brows heal too light Common Reasons Why Microblading Heals Too Light Pigment Choice- Too Light Your artist may have selected a pigment shade that was too light for your skin tone. Always discuss your desired healed color — pigments heal about 30% to 40% lighter than when freshly done.   Microblading Needles Too Thin (Nano Blading) Using ultra-fine needles can create delicate strokes, but they may not implant enough pigment into the skin. Thicker needles can sometimes improve pigment saturation and longevity.  For more visible strokes, consider permanent makeup with SofTap. I have tiny white bumps around my eyes and eyelids. I can't pop them like a whitehead.

When tattooing Permanent Eyeliner , some clients have small white bumps on or near their eyes. Milia are small white bumps that form around the eyes and eyelids. They can form anywhere on the face, but the eye area is the most noticeable. What are they and what can I do to remove them? And most importantly, how do I prevent new ones? Milia are dead skin cells trapped under your skin and it forms into cysts. They are not painful nor harmful, but they are annoying when applying makeup. Milia is not a white head acne, where you can press the surrounding area to squeeze out the gooey puss. Milia seeds tends to be a little more cohesive and gummy in texture. Can they be easily removed? The answer is Yes and No. With the proper tool, angle and technique they can be quickly expelled. But unlike pimples, it’s not as easy to remove on your own. Depending on how old the bump is, it requires a little more “know how” to remove them. Do not squeeze them like a pimple. Because it is...

What to do next, if you hate your new Permanent Makeup procedure.

Q:  What do you do when you absolutely hate your Permanent Makeup Brows? For new brows,  Be Patient!  Permanent Makeup brow procedures take minimum 2 weeks to heal.  The brows will go through various transformation within the next 14 days.  The first week of healing, pigment will temporarily appear bigger and darker.  Within a week's time, they will dry and form a crusty scab.  Once the scab peels, the pigment should look lighter and smaller. If the shape is not ideal, most brow shape can be modified.  They may not be perfect, but there's always room for improvement.  Find a Permanent Makeup Artist that specialize in  correction procedures. If the color needs to be altered, that too can be modified.  They can be lightened or darkened by a  Permanent Makeup Correction Specialist. After the tattoo has healed, topical makeup such as eyeshadow or brow pencil can be used to alter or enhance the shape and color. Keep ...

Organic pigment vs. Inorganic pigment for permanent makeup

Image
When I first started Permanent Makeup Artistry, I was trying to find a niche market.  How can I be different from every other Permanent Makeup Artist? I started thinking..."what if I marketed "Organic" pigment that's made from natural plants and extracts?' I found a Pigment Manufacturer who claimed that her pigments are "Organic". I soon discovered that Organic pigment still contains Iron Oxide otherwise our skin would quickly absorb pure 'Organic' extracts.  As a result, the pigment wouldn't last. So whether someone tells you they use 'organic' or 'in-organic' pigment, they all have low doses of iron oxide.  The traces are low, therefore, not harmful to your body. By the way, I soon discovered that every Permanent Makeup Artist is unique.  They put their art on women's faces.  Our clients trust us to make them more beautiful than when they first walked in.  Our job is to make your brows frame and enhanc...
