But just like any masterpiece, its brilliance depends on how well you preserve it. Here's your go-to guide for keeping your permanent makeup fresh, defined, and beautifully pigmented for years to come. 🌞 Shield from the Sun: Your Color’s Greatest Enemy 1.  The number one culprit behind fading? My brows are very light in color. How can I make them look darker and more noticeable?

Image
I have eyebrows, however, they are light in color.  They are Blond or Grey in color.  Are there any solutions to darken them? Blond Brows There are several ways to darken light brow hair color.  Henna, Hair Dye, Laminated Brows with tinting, Topical Makeup, and Permanent Makeup.  Let’s explore each solution and the Pros and Cons for each option. Henna is a reddish brown powder made from dried henna leaves.  It is a temporary solution to color the brow hair.  Mix with water or a pigment developer to form a paste.  Use a small brow brush or a stamp to apply to the desired brow area. Pros: Henna powder is an Organic product.  However, mixing it with a pigment developer chemical will lengthen the color duration. Fairly inexpensive when done at home. There are professional Henna studios that provide brow services. Can be purchased in powder or ready to use paste. Henna will temporarily dye hair and skin. Cons:  The paste consistency makes ...

I have tiny white bumps around my eyes and eyelids. I can't pop them like a whitehead.

When tattooing Permanent Eyeliner , some clients have small white bumps on or near their eyes. Milia are small white bumps that form around the eyes and eyelids. They can form anywhere on the face, but the eye area is the most noticeable. What are they and what can I do to remove them? And most importantly, how do I prevent new ones? Milia are dead skin cells trapped under your skin and it forms into cysts. They are not painful nor harmful, but they are annoying when applying makeup. Milia is not a white head acne, where you can press the surrounding area to squeeze out the gooey puss. Milia seeds tends to be a little more cohesive and gummy in texture. Can they be easily removed? The answer is Yes and No. With the proper tool, angle and technique they can be quickly expelled. But unlike pimples, it’s not as easy to remove on your own. Depending on how old the bump is, it requires a little more “know how” to remove them. Do not squeeze them like a pimple. Because it is...

Permanent Makeup, Microblading and Nano Brows...Should I use my own numbing cream prior to my cosmetic tattoo appointment.

Image
Permanent Makeup, Cosmetic Tattoo, Microblading Click photo to view more Before/After photos Does it help to use my own numbing cream at home, prior to showing up to my Permanent Makeup appointment? The answer is a definite NO. Most over the counter numbing creams are effective for 2 hours or less. Additional use of the cream will not prolong the numbing effect. In fact, the procedure may be overall more painful in the end. For the most effective numbing experience, gently exfoliate your brow area or lips the night before the procedure.  By removing layers of dead or dry skin cells on the treatment area, it will allow the numbing ingredient to penetrate your skin. Considering Permanent Makeup , but uncertain of the Pros and Cons. Here's a short list of the Benefits and Concerns.  Pros:  When applied correctly, Permanent Makeup (PMU) looks natural. Great for outdoor activities or work outs.  Ideal for individuals who are sensitive or allergic to traditional makeup products.  Convenience, wake up looking more defined. Less time putting on makeup in the morning.  Youthful, defining eyes and lips with a little color can make you look younger.   Cons:   Cost : Permanent Makeup (PMU) is not permanent. Permanent Makeup Patch Test: what is it and why it's done.

Image
What is a "Patch Test" or "Allergy Test" and why is it performed? People who are highly allergic to certain foods and products are hesitant to get Permanent Makeup .  They are concerned with adverse reactions to the tattoo pigment. Prior to tattooing the face area, the artist can tattoo a small area of the skin that is hidden from plain view.  For example, most common area is behind the client's ear, areas of the body that is usually covered under clothing, or on the client's feet.  After the patch test, the client is instructed to go home and keep a close watch for any excessive swelling, irritation, or feeling nauseous.  This reassures the client, in the event of adverse reaction, their face will not be affected. Here is a list of common ingredients in most tattoo pigments:  Mixture of various inert iron oxides, chromium oxide, titanium dioxide, carmine, and glycerin.   In all the years of practicing Permanent Makeup , I have not encoun...

Organic pigment vs. Inorganic pigment for permanent makeup

Image
When I first started Permanent Makeup Artistry, I was trying to find a niche market.  How can I be different from every other Permanent Makeup Artist? I started thinking..."what if I marketed "Organic" pigment that's made from natural plants and extracts?' I found a Pigment Manufacturer who claimed that her pigments are "Organic". I soon discovered that Organic pigment still contains Iron Oxide otherwise our skin would quickly absorb pure 'Organic' extracts.  As a result, the pigment wouldn't last. So whether someone tells you they use 'organic' or 'in-organic' pigment, they all have low doses of iron oxide.  The traces are low, therefore, not harmful to your body. By the way, I soon discovered that every Permanent Makeup Artist is unique.  They put their art on women's faces.  Our clients trust us to make them more beautiful than when they first walked in.  Our job is to make your brows frame and enhanc...
